Installation Procedure

1998 Chevrolet Suburban K2500, 7.4 J, Part TimeSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Position the pressure hose into place.
  2. Install the pressure hose to the pump.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the pressure hose fitting to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).

  3. Install the drive belt. Refer to DRIVE BELT REPLACEMENT .
  4. Raise and support the vehicle.
  5. Place the pressure hose into the retaining bracket.

  6. Install the pressure hose to the steering gear.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the pressure hose filling to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).

  7. Install the right side splash panel.
  8. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to BLEEDING THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM  .
