Installation Procedure

1998 Chevrolet Suburban K2500, 7.4 J, Part TimeSECTION Installation Procedure

  1. Install the thermostat.

  2. Install the water outlet gasket and housing to the intake manifold.
  3. Install the water outlet bolts.

    Tighten:Β 

    Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 ft lbs)Β

  4. Install the radiator hose to the water outlet housing.
  5. Use the J 38185 to reposition and install the hose clamp to the water outlet housing.
  6. Install the air cleaner assembly.
  7. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling SystemΒ 
  8. Inspect for leaks.
