  1. Remove the outlet resonator/duct assembly. See AIR CLEANER OUTLET RESONATOR/DUCT ASSEMBLYΒ  under AIR INDUCTION SYSTEMS. Remove the resonator outlet duct assembly bracket from the manifold.
  2. Relieve the fuel system pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASEΒ  . Disconnect Gauge Bar Set (SA9127E) and Fuel Pressure Adapter Fitting (L44095) after pressure has been released (if using the without scan tool method of releasing fuel pressure).
  3. Disconnect the fuel transfer line at quick connect from the fuel line using Fuel Line Disconnect Tool Set (J 37088-A), or equivalent. Remove the fuel rail bracket bolt to manifold at the rear of the intake manifold.
  4. Lift and support the intake manifold. See INTAKE MANIFOLD & SPACER (3.0L)Β  under AIR INDUCTION SYSTEMS.
  5. While supporting the fuel rail assembly with an open-end wrench, loosen the transfer line fitting at fuel rail. Remove the fuel line bracket bolt to manifold. Remove the fuel transfer line. Visually inspect the "O" ring seals for cuts, nicks, or flatness. Replace as necessary.
