Fuel Pressure Dampener (2.2L): Installation

  1. "O" rings must be lubricated with clean engine oil and installed into the fuel rail before the fuel pressure regulator is installed. Install the small oiled "O" ring into the fuel rail. Install the large oiled "O" ring into the fuel rail.
  2. Install the fuel pressure regulator into the fuel rail. Install the retaining bolts. Tighten the fuel pressure dampener bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ  .
  3. Install the outlet resonator/duct assembly. See AIR CLEANER OUTLET RESONATOR/DUCT ASSEMBLYΒ  under AIR INDUCTION SYSTEMS.
  4. Connect the negative battery cable. Tighten the battery terminal bolt to specification. Run the vehicle and inspect for leaks. Reset all preset radio stations and set clock to correct time.
