Malfunction Indicator Light (Mil)
As a bulb and system check, MIL will illuminate when ignition switch is turned to ON position and engine is not running. When engine is started, MIL should go out. If MIL does not go out, a malfunction has been detected in the computerized engine control system or MIL circuit is faulty. When to See a Mechanic
Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:

- • Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
- • The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
