- Remove wiper 25-amp fuse No. 11 from fuse block. Connect ammeter across fuse block terminals. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Run wiper in high speed with windshield dry. Note lowest current draw. If lowest current draw exceeds 5.0 amps, go to next step. If lowest current draw is less than 5.0 amps, replace wiper motor assembly.
- Replace wiper blade inserts. Repeat test. If current draw is less than 5.0 amps, test is complete. If current draw exceeds 5.0 amps, disconnect drive link from wiper motor crank arm. Repeat test in step 1). If current draw is less than 5 amps, check wire drive system module for binding. Repair or replace as necessary. If current draw exceeds 5 amps, replace wiper motor assembly.
