- Disconnect BCM 32-pin connector C3 (Blue). Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If SECURITY indicator illuminates, check for short to ground in Gray wire between instrument cluster connector terminal A3 and BCM connector C3 terminal C12. If Gray wire is okay, check for shorts in instrument cluster printed circuit. Replace as necessary.
- If SECURITY indicator does not illuminate, perform lock cylinder and harness test. See LOCK CYLINDER & HARNESS TEST. If keys, lock cylinder and lock cylinder harness are okay, replace BCM. Light will remain on for about one minute after repair.
