Parallel Parking Assist Mode

1997 Chevrolet Chevy Express G3500, Van Cargo, 6.5 FSECTION Parallel Parking Assist Mode
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1998 Oldsmobile Aurora. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

When a Reverse input signal from Park/Neutral Position (PNP) switch is received by memory seat/mirror module, right outside mirror will move down 5 degrees. This will allow driver to see curb while parallel parking. Any manual operation of right mirror will override parallel parking assist mode. If mirror select switch is set to move right mirror when gearshift lever is placed in Reverse, mode will not be entered. Once mode has been overridden, memory seat/mirror module must receive another Reverse input signal to enter mode.
