Code 41, 1X Signal Error: Notes

The ignition module processes 1X signal and sends it to control module for alternate synchronous double firing of injector. This is done for cleaner emissions. Loss of 1X signal will cause simultaneous synchronous double firing of injectors and setting of Code 41.

NOTE: Test numbers refer to test numbers on diagnostic chart.
  1. Determines if codes is a hard failure or an intermittent condition.
  2. Checks 5-volt signal out of ignition module.
  3. Checks 1X signal circuit for short, open or short to voltage.
  4. Checks connections at ignition module and ignition module itself.
