- Raise and support vehicle. Remove wheel. Remove axle shaft nut. Remove caliper and rotor. Disconnect wheel speed sensor connector. Remove hub and bearing bolts. Remove hub and bearing from knuckle using Front Hub Spindle Remover (J-28733-A). Pry speed sensor from hub and bearing assembly using a blunt screwdriver. SeeFigure . DO NOT reuse speed sensor.
- Thoroughly clean mating surfaces of hub and speed sensor. Apply Loctite No. 620 to NEW speed sensor. Using J-38764, press speed sensor onto hub and bearing assembly. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Tighten hub and bearing bolts to 70 ft. lbs. (95 N.m).
