Overdrive Assembly: Disassembly

1996 Chevrolet Chevy Express G3500, Van Passenger Extended, 4.3 WSECTION Disassembly

Remove overrun clutch housing from overdrive assembly. See Figure. Disassemble overrun clutch. See Figure and Figure. Using Clutch Spring Compressor (J-23327) and Adapter (J-38734), compress spring retainer, and remove clutch piston. See Figure. Disassemble overdrive assembly. See Figure. If necessary, disassemble overdrive carrier assembly. See Figure.
