Code 56/61/64 - Abs Motor Circuit Open: Notes

  • Code 56 - Left Front ABS Motor
  • Code 61 - Right Front ABS Motor
  • Code 64 - Rear ABS Motor

This test identifies a motor that cannot be energized due to an open circuit.

Code 56/61/64 can set only when motor is commanded off and EBCM/EBTCM detects an out of range voltage on any of ABS motor circuits, indicating an open circuit. Code will be stored, ABS will be disabled and ABS warning light illuminated.

NOTE: Test numbers refer to numbers on diagnostic chart. Use only 10-megohm (minimum) DVOM for all voltage and resistance tests. For identification of circuits and terminals referenced in charts and text, see WIRING DIAGRAMSΒ .
