Circuit Description
Transaxle Fluid Temperature (TFT) sensor is a thermistor which is part of the Pressure Switch Assembly (PSA). PCM supplies a 5 volt reference signal to sensor on circuit No. 1227 (Yellow/Black wire). When transaxle fluid is cold, sensor resistance is high and PCM will sense a high signal voltage. As transaxle fluid warms, sensor resistance lowers and PCM senses lower voltage. PCM uses TFT sensor readings to control TCC apply and release, line pressure adjustments and temperature compensated shifts. DTC P0712 detects a continuous short to ground in TFT sensor circuit or TFT sensor.
