Circuit Description
Serial data communication bus consists of 4 components. Powertrain Control Module (PCM), Diagnostic Energy Reserve Module (DERM), Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) and electronic Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). IPC is the master of this network and sends out a message through serial data to other modules. Each module responds back to IPC with updated information. If any module does not respond back to IPC, a DTC is set in each applicable module.

When to See a Mechanic
