Safety Warning
DIY auto repair can cause serious injury, fire, or vehicle damage. These guides are for informational purposes only. Always follow OEM torque specs, wear PPE, and consult a certified mechanic if you are unsure. You are solely responsible for your safety.
Delay Operates Incorrectly Or Not At All (Vehicles With Variable Pulse Delay)
1) Turn ignition off. Disconnect wiper switch connector. Move wiper switch to DELAY position. At switch side of connector, measure resistance between Yellow wire and Gray wire terminals of wiper switch connector.
2) Move wiper switch through entire delay range, one notch at a time. If resistance varies from 39,000 to 680,000 ohms, replace wiper switch. If resistance does not vary from 39,000 to 680,000 ohms, reconnect wiper switch connector. Disconnect wiper motor connector. Turn ignition switch to RUN position.
3) Measure voltage at Gray wire terminal of wiper motor connector. If battery voltage is present, replace wiper motor cover assembly (circuit board). If approximately zero volts is present, check for open Gray wire. If Gray wire is okay, replace wiper motor cover assembly (circuit board).
