- Using scan tool, retrieve DTCs. Clear DTCs. If DTC 11 or 25 is not set, go to next step. If DTC 11 or 25 is set, IPC has recently detected an MRD data short during normal vehicle operation. See DTCs 11 & 25, PASSLOCK(R) LOCK CYLINDER DATA SHORTED TO GROUND DURING IGNITION CYCLE.
- If DTC 12, 24 or 27 is not set, go to next step. If DTC 12, 24 or 27 is set, IPC has detected a bad R-Code during normal vehicle operation. See DTCs 12, 24 & 27, PASSLOCK(R) BAD R-CODE DURING IGNITION CYCLE.
- If DTC 28 is not set, replace IPC. See appropriate article. If DTC 28 is set, check for a short to ground in Black wire between ignition switch and IPC. If Black wire is okay, replace IPC. See article.
