Diagnostic Aids

1995 Chevrolet Camaro Base, 2D Coupe, 3.8 KSECTION Diagnostic Aids

Using Tech 1 scan tester, select Manual Control function and cycle motor of affected channel in both directions while applying light pressure on brake pedal.

If erratic or jumpy brake pedal movement is detected while performing "apply" or "release" function of motor, intermittent fault code may be indicated. Intermittent problem may be caused by poor connection, rubbed-through wire insulation or broken wire inside insulation.

If fault is not current, wiggle wires of affected channel, and check if code resets. This will help pinpoint intermittent problem in motor circuit or connections. Enhanced Diagnostic feature Tech 1 scan tester can be used to check frequency of problem.

Any circuit suspected of causing intermittent problem should be thoroughly checked for backed-out terminals, improper mating, broken connector locks, damaged terminals or poor terminal-to-wiring connections.
