Diagnostic Aids

1992 Chevrolet Cavalier RS, 2D Convertible, 2.2 4, StandardSECTION Diagnostic Aids

Intermittent problem may be caused by poor connection, rubbed-through wire insulation or broken wire inside the insulation. Enhanced Diagnostic feature of Tech 1 can be used to check frequency of problem. If Amber warning indicator only comes on during moist conditions, thoroughly check wheel speed sensor circuits for signs of water intrusion.

Any circuit suspected of causing intermittent problem should be thoroughly checked for backed-out terminals, improper mating, broken connector locks, damaged terminals or poor terminal to wiring connections. Carefully inspect toothed ring, CV joint, bearing and wheel speed sensor for damage.
