1. Inspect housing (610) for bad welding, band scoring or heat damage.

2. Inspect housing bushings for cracks, damage or scoring.

3. Inspect piston (615) for damage or cracks.

4. Inspect inner, outer and center seals for burrs, nicks or brittleness.

5. Check apply ring and release spring assembly (616) for damage and collapsed springs.

6. Inspect clutch plates (618) for wear or burning.

7. Check backing plate for burning, cracks or damage.

8. Replace snap rings and check ball capsule (609) for free operation.
