Front Window is Inoperative or Jumps when Being Rolled Up or Down (Install New Regulator/Motor Kit)

This bulletin cancels and supersedes Corporate Bulletin Number 431042. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 431042 (Group Reference 10 - Body).
Condition
Some owners may comment that the front window is inoperative or the window jumps when rolling up or down.
Cause
Internal motor deterioration or broken gear teeth on the motor.
Correction
Install kit listed below which contains a new regulator and motor, instruction sheet, guide and rivets for attachment.
Procedure
After removal of the trim panel, water deflector and window regulator, and the window regulator has been replaced, proceed as follows:

1. Cut template from page 2 of the kit and locate to the top edge of door inner panel. (See Figure 1, Item 1 - right hand door shown).
2. Make sure the template conforms to the door surface (see Figure 1, Item 2).
3. Align the rear edge of the template as shown in Figure 1, Item 3.
4. Drill 4.5 mm (3/16 in.) holes as shown on the template (see Figure 1, Item 4).
5. If up-stop is present, drill out both retaining rivets and discard UP STOP (see Figure 1, Item 5).
6. Install guide assembly using rivets supplied in kit.
7. Run the window up while watching the regulator arm meet the guide for correct contact. If necessary, bend bracket inboard for contact.
8. Reinstall water deflector and door trim.
