Sight Glass Indicators: Notes

NOTE: Receiver-drier may be used on some models, while other models use an accumulator.

A sight glass (if used) is usually mounted in receiver-drier or in discharge line to expansion valve. Through sight glass, a visual check of refrigerant condition passing through the system can be made. There are several "indicators" that help diagnose possible problems. See Figure . These "indicators" are outlined as follows:

When to See a Mechanic
