Hub & Bearing Assembly: Installation
1990 Chevrolet Cavalier Base, 4D Sedan, Automatic, 125C/MD9SECTION Installation
- Install new "O" ring on hub and bearing assembly. Using driver, install new seal in steering knuckle. Position hub and bearing assembly in steering knuckle bore. Install NEW hub nut until bearing and hub assembly is seated. Tighten to specification. Refer to the TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ table. Install hub-to-steering knuckle bolts and tighten evenly to specifications.
- To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. On models with bracket stops on upper and lower ends of brake calipers, check clearance. Clearance should be .005-.012" (.13-.31 mm) at each end. Replace or grind stops as necessary. This will ensure caliper slides freely.
