- Clean all parts in solvent and blow dry with compressed air. Inspect input shaft splines for wear or cracks and replace if necessary. Inspect all gears for scuffed, nicked or broken teeth.
- Check bearings for rough rotation, burred or pitting conditions. Replace bearings if necessary. Check bearing races and input shaft races for scoring, wear or overheating conditions.
- Inspect snap ring for nicks, wear or distortion. Check synchronizer for wear, scuffed, nicked, burred or broken teeth. If defects cannot be repaired by using a soft stone or crocus cloth, replace component.
