Starter - DELCO-REMY: Description
General Motors starters have an enclosed solenoid, shift lever and overrunning clutch. Starter circuits differ depending upon load and speed requirements.
The 5MT series small starter has its field coils permanently mounted in the frame. The 10MT large starter has an optional center bearing.

When to See a Mechanic
