- Remove snap ring from end of shaft. Before removing any synchronizer rings, ensure rings are labeled as to which gear they go with. DO NOTΒ mix rings. See Figure . Using hydraulic press, Shaft Gear Press Tube (J-36183) and Shaft Gear Press Tube Reducer (J-36184), remove 5th gear, 4th gear, 4th gear bearing and bearing race.
- Label and remove 4th gear synchronizer ring, 3rd-4th synchronizer assembly, 3rd gear synchronizer ring and 3rd gear from input shaft. Remove 2 halves of 3rd gear bearing from Input shaft. See Figure .
