Circuit Description

1987 Chevrolet Suburban R20, 5.7 K, StandardSECTION Circuit Description

The ECM operates a solenoid to control EGR valve. This solenoid is normally closed. By providing the ground path, the ECM energizes the solenoid to allow vacuum to flow to the EGR valve. The ECM control of EGR is based upon the following inputs: engine coolant temperature above 77Β°F (25Β°C), throttle position off idle, and MAP sensor reading.
