- With detent spring tang projecting up over 1st-2nd shifter shaft opening, install 3rd-4th detent cam on detent cam pivot pin. See Figure . With detent spring tang projecting up over 3rd-4th shifter shaft opening, install 1st-2nd detent cam on detent cam pivot pin.
- Install detent cam retaining "C" ring to pivot pin. Hook detent spring in detent cam notches.
- Hold reverse detent spring and ball in cover. Install reverse shift shaft.
- Install 1st-2nd and 3rd-4th shift forks on shifter shaft assemblies. Lift detent cam to allow forks to fully seat. Install outer shift levers, flat washers, lock washers and bolts. Install cover assembly.
