Distributor Replacement
1985 Chevrolet Nova/Chevy II L4-1600cc 4ALC NummiSECTION Distributor Replacement
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect distributor wire at electrical connector.
3. Disconnect vacuum hoses, then the vacuum advance unit.
4. Disconnect distributor cap with spark plug cables connected, then position aside.
5. Remove distributor hold-down bolts.
6. Note position of rotor, then pull distributor outward until it stops rotating counterclockwise.
7. Reverse procedure to install. Check to ensure marks made during removal are correctly aligned during installation.
8. Adjust ignition timing as outlined in Tune Up Section.
