- Disconnect negative battery cable. Loosen fan shroud. Remove air cleaner and distributor cap. Raise vehicle and drain oil. On manual transmission models, remove starter.
- On all models, remove lower bellhousing cover. Remove oil filter. On models equipped with oil pressure gauge, remove oil pressure line from block.NOTE: Pressure line is removed to prevent damage when engine is lifted.
- On all models, remove front engine mount through bolts. Raise engine and remove oil pan bolts. Remove oil pan and clean all gasket surfaces. When installing, apply 1/8" bead of sealer on entire oil pan sealing flange. Align holes of gasket on block and install oil pan.
