Gearshift Housing & Mechanism: Disassembly

1985 Chevrolet Chevy Van G20, 6.2 C, StandardSECTION Disassembly
  1. If oil leakage is visible around lever shafts or if interlock levers are cracked, remove shift levers and shafts. Make sure shafts are free of burrs before removing to avoid damaging housing bores.
  2. Remove "O" ring retainers and "O" rings from housing. Remove "E" clip from interlock lever pivot pin. Remove interlock levers and spring from housing. Remove reverse detent spring and ball from bore of case.
