Unconditioned Air

1983 Chevrolet Citation 4D Hatchback, 2.5 R, AutomaticSECTION Unconditioned Air

Air, either outside or recirculated, enters the system and is drawn through the evaporator core. There it receives maximum cooling if the control levers are set for the cooling mode of operation.

After leaving the evaporator, the air is forced by the blower into the heater and A/C selector duct assembly.

By means of a cable-controlled temperature door, the air is caused to pass either through or around the heater core in the proper proportions to obtain the desired discharge air temperature.
