Reverse Clutch Plates

1983 Chevrolet Chevette Scooter, 2D Hatchback, Standard, MY1SECTION Reverse Clutch Plates
  1. Install aluminum pressure plate into transmission case with flat side up. Ensure lug on pressure plate engages one of the narrow notches in case.
  2. Lubricate steel and composition reverse clutch plates with transmission fluid. Install clutch plates into transmission case starting with a steel plate and alternating composition and steel clutch plates until all plates are installed.
  3. Install reverse clutch cushion plate (wave washer) into case, so all three of its lugs are engaged into narrow notches in case.
