Starter Motor

- Remove through bolts, rear cover, and 4 brushes. Separate the gear case from the frame assembly. Remove brush holder and armature from frame. Ensure field coil brushes do not contact adjacent surfaces.
- Remove bearing retainer and pinion assembly from gear case. Using a screwdriver, remove retaining clip and disassemble pinion assembly.
