  1. Remove through bolts, rear cover, and 4 brushes. Separate the gear case from the frame assembly. Remove brush holder and armature from frame. Ensure field coil brushes do not contact adjacent surfaces.
  2. Remove bearing retainer and pinion assembly from gear case. Using a screwdriver, remove retaining clip and disassemble pinion assembly.
