1982 Chevrolet Chevy Van G30, 4.1L Eng VIN D, Standard TransSECTION Automatic Transmissions

Place shift tube lever in "N" or "D". Loosen adjusting ring clamp screws and rotate adjusting ring to obtain 0.33 - 0.36" (8.4-9.1 mm) end play between shift tube lever and adjusting ring. Tighten adjusting ring clamp screws. See Fig 1.
