Compressor Discharge Method: Notes

1977 Chevrolet Camaro Base, 4.1L Eng VIN D, Automatic TransSECTION Notes

GM HIGH SIDE SERVICE VALVE NOTE - To help prevent the possibility of accidentally hooking up the low side to the high side when recharging, the high side fitting is changed from 7/6-20 thread to 3/8-24 thread. A special hose adapter (J-25499) will have to be used when hooking up the high side valve.Β

This procedure is to be used on vehicles which have compressor equipped with Schrader service valves. In these cases, the compressor cannot be isolated and the system must be discharged prior to compressor removal.
