This control operates the temperature door by means of a bowden cable. At COLD, no airflow is allowed through the heater core. At HOT, all air flows through the heater core. This control also operates an override vacuum switch which closes the water valve when the lever is in the maximum cold position and will also put the system into outside air whenever heat is called for, regardless of the position of the selector lever.
