Piston & Rod Assembly: Removal

With oil pan, oil pump and cylinder head removed, remove any ridge in top of cylinder bore with a suitable ridge reamer. Check connecting rod and cap for identification marks or numbers and identify if necessary. Remove connecting rod cap nuts and rod cap. Push piston and rod assembly up and out of cylinder block. It will be necessary to rotate crankshaft to various positions to facilitate removing piston and rod assemblies.
