Safety Warning
DIY auto repair can cause serious injury, fire, or vehicle damage. These guides are for informational purposes only. Always follow OEM torque specs, wear PPE, and consult a certified mechanic if you are unsure. You are solely responsible for your safety.
Driver Power Window Operation
The switch for the driver power window has 4 positions; up, down, express up and express down and its position is a direct input into the driver door lock/window switch. When the driver power window motor module receives a serial data message from the driver door lock/window switch, the driver power window motor module will apply power and ground to the driver door window motor to move the window as requested.
The driver door contains a window motor that is a smart motor and will detect excessive resistance while performing the express up function and automatically reverse direction to prevent injury to any occupants that may become trapped between the closing window and the door frame. The automatic reverse safety feature can be overridden by pulling and holding the window switch.
