SEAT BACK COVER AND PAD REPLACEMENT - FRONT (W/ULT)
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. If equipped with side air bags, disable the air bag module. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 7 or SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 9 in Restraint Systems.
CAUTION: Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.
2. Remove the head restraint.
3. Remove the seat trim panel.
4. Remove the nut from the lower seat belt anchor.
5. Disengage the J-strip retainer on the bottom of the seat back cover.
6. Using a side motion, carefully lift the seat back cover partially off the foam pad in order to access the arm rest clip.
7. Remove the armrest, if equipped.
8. Pull the cover to one side releasing the oki fastener (1).
9. Release all remaining oki fasteners (2).
10. Using a flat-bladed tool lift the seat cover over the air bag cover.
11. Remove the seat cover to the top of the seat.
12. Disengage the panel fasteners in order to remove the rear cardboard panel.
13. Unclip the head restraint retainers.
14. Remove the bolts which retain the seat belt tower cover.
15. Remove the seat belt tower cover.
16. Pull the seat belt and the seat belt bezel through the opening in the seat cover.
17. Lift the remainder of the seat back cover off the foam pad.
18. Carefully remove the foam pad from the frame.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Attach the foam pad to the frame.
2. Install the seat belt tower.
3. Install the bolts which retain the seat belt tower cover.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Tighten the bolts to 1.9 N.m (17 lb in).
4. Install the rear cardboard panel. Engage the panel fasteners.
5. Install the seat back cover partially onto the top of the frame.
6. Feed the seat belt and the seat belt bezel through the tower opening.
7. Install the arm rest clip.
8. Pull the rest of the cover down using a side-to-side motion.
9. Secure all the oki fasteners (2).
10. Install the armrests, if equipped.
11. Install the head restraint retainers.
12. Fit the seat cover around the air bag cover.
13. Install the nut to the lower seat belt anchor.
Tighten the nut to 53 N.m (39 lb ft).
14. Install the seat trim panel.
15. Install the head restraints.
16. Push on the seat cover. Ensure that the cover is retained by the Velcro(R) in the seat cushion.
17. Connect the J-strip at the bottom of the seat.
18. If equipped with side air bags, enable the air bag module. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 7 or SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 9 in Restraint Systems.
