Diagnostic Procedures
1997 Cadillac Seville SLSSECTION Diagnostic Procedures
- Turn ignition off. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Disconnect left seat switch (Eldorado and Seville only) or left lumbar switch. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)Β under SELF-DIAGNOSTICS. After 30 seconds, check for DTCs. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)Β under SELF-DIAGNOSTICS. If DTC is reset, go to next step. If DTC is not reset, go tostep 3).
- Repair short to ground in appropriate wire. See appropriate table under DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)Β under SELF-DIAGNOSTICS. See WIRING DIAGRAMSΒ . Go to step 4).
- Replace left seat switch (Eldorado and Seville) or left lumbar switch. See appropriate SEATS - POWER article. Recheck system operation.
- Clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)Β under SELF-DIAGNOSTICS. Reinstall and reconnect all components and connectors. Recheck system operation.
