Safety Warning
DIY auto repair can cause serious injury, fire, or vehicle damage. These guides are for informational purposes only. Always follow OEM torque specs, wear PPE, and consult a certified mechanic if you are unsure. You are solely responsible for your safety.
Self-Diagnostic System: Notes
Body Control Module (BCM) is equipped with a self-diagnostic system, which detects system failures or abnormalities. When a malfunction occurs, BCM will store a 5-digit alphanumeric code.
After BCM trouble codes have been displayed, service mode can be used to clear codes and exit diagnostics or individually perform other tests on different systems. To continue with system diagnostics, see SERVICE MODE OPERATION. To exit diagnostic mode, press DEFOG or MODE button on CCP, or turn ignition off. Codes will not be cleared. System will return to normal vehicle operation.
