Retained Accessory Power (RAP)

1997 Cadillac Seville SLS V8-4.6L VIN YSECTION Retained Accessory Power (RAP)
The RAP feature allows the power windows, the entertainment system, and astroroof to be operated after the ignition switch is turned from "RUN" to the "LOCK" position. These items will be turned off when any vehicle door is opened or ten minutes have elapsed since the ignition switch transition.

The PZM enables RAP by energizing the Controlled Power Relay and the Accessory Time Delay Cutoff Relay, as well as a Class 2 serial data message to the entertainment system. The Controlled Power Relay is energized whenever the PZM is "awake," and for up to 15 minutes after the last "wake-up" signal. The Accessory Time Delay Cutoff Relay directly controls the power windows and sunroof but the PZM must provide a serial data message to the entertainment system to Allow RAP control.
