Brake Release Switch

1996 Cadillac Eldorado V8-4.6L VIN 9SECTION Brake Release Switch
The cruise control system utilizes an electrical brake release switch and a vacuum release valve.

The electric brake release switch cuts off the voltage supplied through the cruise control switch to the electronic controller when the brake pedal is depressed. The vacuum release valve operates after the electric release switch disengages. It serves as a back-up release system and opens a port that vents the servo unit to atmospheric pressure, allowing the throttle to return to the idle position.
