Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

NOTE: Care must be taken when handling Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor. Damage to ECT sensor will affect proper operation of the fuel injection system.
Remove or Disconnect
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Drain coolant.
3. Electrical connector.
4. Carefully back out ECT sensor.
Install or Connect
1. ECT sensor. Tighten sensor to 22 Nm (16 ft lb).
2. Electrical connector.
3. Fill coolant.
4. Negative battery cable.
Remove or Disconnect
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Drain coolant.
3. Electrical connector.
4. Carefully back out ECT sensor.
Install or Connect
1. ECT sensor. Tighten sensor to 22 Nm (16 ft lb).
2. Electrical connector.
3. Fill coolant.
4. Negative battery cable.
