1993 Cadillac DeVille Base, 4D SedanSECTION Pull-To-Seat Connector Repair
NOTE: Follow the steps to repair the Pull-To-Seat connectors. See Fig 1 . Connectors may differ, but the repair steps are similar. Some connectors do not require all of the steps shown. Skip those that do not apply.
  1. Separate the connector halves. See Fig 2 . Using the proper pick or removal tool, remove the terminal. Pull the lead gently. Insert the pick from the front of the connector into the canal. Pry the tab up with the tool. Push the lead to remove it.
  2. If the terminal is to be reused, reform the locking tang.
  3. Make the repair. Pull the terminal wire out of the connector body. Cut the wire as close to the terminal as possible. Strip 5 mm (3/16 inch) of insulation from the wire. See Fig 3 . Crimp the new terminal to the wire. Solder with rosin core solder. Carefully pull on the wire to draw the terminal into the connector body until it locks.
