1993 Cadillac DeVille Base, 4D SedanSECTION Test B: Some, But Not All Seat Functions Inoperative
  1. Connect the Jumper Seat Memory Module Diagnostic Connector to ground, the module should beep.
  2. Operate all of the seat switch functions that do not work. Fig 1 . If the module beeps every time a switch function is actuated, go to the next step. If the module does not beep every time a switch function is actuated, go to MODULE DOES NOT BEEP EVERY TIME SWITCH FUNCTION ACTUATEDΒ  .
  3. If 2 seat switch functions do not operate (i.e. front height does not move up or down), go to step Β 5 . If there is not 2 inoperative seat switch functions, go to the next step.
  4. Repair the short to ground on the circuit of the affected motor.
  5. Disconnect the affected motor and jumper battery and ground to motor terminals. If the motor turns, go to the next step. If the motor does not turn, replace the motor.
  6. Check the wiring to the Seat Memory Module for an open. If the wiring is OK, replace the Seat Memory Module. See MEMORY SEAT MODULE (FISHER SYSTEM)Β  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
