Test V: Brake Fluid Level Switch

  1. Turn ignition off. Release parking brake. Disconnect master cylinder brake fluid level switch connector. Turn ignition switch to RUN position.
  2. Connect a fused jumper wire between terminal "B" of master cylinder brake fluid level switch connector and ground. See Fig 1 . BRAKE warning light should come on. If light does not come on, check and repair open in circuit No. 33 (Tan/White wire).
  3. Connect fused jumper wire between terminals "A" and "B" of master cylinder brake fluid level switch connector. BRAKE warning light should come on. If light does not come on, check and repair open in circuit No. 151 (Black wire).
  4. Connect fused jumper wire between terminals "B" and "C" of master cylinder brake fluid level switch connector. BRAKE warning light should come on with ignition switch in RUN or START position. If light does not come on, check and repair open in circuit No. 875 (Light Green/Black wire) and ignition switch. If BRAKE warning light functions properly, replace master cylinder reservoir.
  5. After all repairs are complete, clear codes, and perform ABS/TCS functional check. See ABS/TCS FUNCTIONAL CHECK CHART (LESABRE & PARK AVENUE)Β  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC CHARTS.
