Diagnosis - A/T - 4T60-E: Operation: Pcm
On Cutlass Supreme, Grand Prix and Lumina, PCM is located at right side of engine compartment. On other models, the PCM is located under right or left kick panel or near the radio. PCM controls ignition, fuel and emission devices related to the engine and transaxle upshifts and downshifts.
The PCM receives electronic signals from sensors and switches. These signals help the PCM determine when to operate various relays and solenoids related to engine and transaxle control.
On some models, the PCM is also connected to one or more other computers, which operate the climate control system, anti-lock brake system, driver information center and supplemental restraint system.

When to See a Mechanic
