Cruise Control Switch: Service and Repair
1983 Cadillac Eldorado V8-350 5.7L DSLSECTION Service and Repair
The engagement switch cannot be serviced. The complete turn signal lever must be replaced as an assembly.
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove steering column lower cover and remove tape securing wire to column.
3. Disconnect cruise control switch connector and attach a suitable piece of wire to switch connector.
4. Remove turn signal lever by pulling it out of the detented retaining clip inside the steering column. On some models, it may be necessary to remove steering wheel.
5. Pull harness up gently so guide wire can be used to install new unit.
6. Reverse procedure to install.
