Circuit/System Description

2019 Buick Envision BaseSECTION Circuit/System Description

The Passenger Seat Belt Load Limiter is in place to release a small amount of excess seat belt webbing during a vehicle crash to reduce seat belt induced force on the occupant. Deployment is based upon crash severity and seat position. This deployment loop is located in the seat belt retractor assembly. There are 2 shorting bars which will short the control circuits together when the connector is disconnected. This will help to prevent unwanted deployment during servicing.
